A Calgary decorator at heart
Ever since childhood, Cat has been decorating, arranging furniture, painting walls and re-decorating her own rooms. Growing up in Finland, she is inspired by simplicity but with a major focus on functionality. "I am guided naturally by practicality and with a Nordic flair," says Cat. I like Scandinavian design and the use of white in the home, it is calming (I do like red too). I am not a minimalist, but I try to encourage clients to de- clutter by getting rid of things not in use, and especially things you don't really like. It's amazing how good it feels to get rid of things we don't love or need, even if it was given to us by a nice aunt as a wedding gift."
Cat is a certified Interior Refiner, trained by Lauri Ward, founder of Use What You Have Interiors® in New York. She is constantly on a learning path and is currently enrolled in further Calgary decorating courses as well as a Feng Shui practitioner certification program.
"I love transforming homes into comfortable, inviting living areas where you can feel the right energy flowing," says Cat. "There is nothing more satisfying to me than someone being excited about their home or room after we have done a room refinement together."
